Our
story
Becoming a global solutions provider
In 2005, iONLINE’s CEO and founder David Farquharson launched iONLINE, a premier internet solutions provider (ISP), with the vision of becoming South Africa's leading ISP for corporates. Starting from a small office, David worked tirelessly to build a customer-focused ISP, with an initial investment raised through trusted friends and family setting iONLINE on its journey.
As the company grew, its offerings expanded, and the team developed proprietary tools and products to manage its diverse solutions and services. One such tool, ‘CloudAPN’, launched in early 2014, enabled seamless management of client SIM cards, providing them with mobile internet access via their preferred carrier.
A pivotal moment came just months later, when one of our mobile network operators (MNOs) was introduced to the system. Impressed by its capabilities, they requested a licence to on-sell it to their clients. This marked the transformation of an internal tool into a revolutionary product. Renamed CentralFlex, the platform set a new standard for connectivity management.
Over the years, our Connected Networks solution has grown into a global offering, supporting clients across 220 countries and territories, on over 700 networks.
Today, we are growing faster than ever before, powered by a fully remote workforce located across five continents. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, our team is dedicated to the pursuit of becoming the world's number one IoT connectivity provider.
